BRICS+ Forum for Strategic Technology

promoting technological sovereignty in the Global South, in the BRICS+ countries and in the world

HOW WE WORK

Technological sovereignty in concrete actions

We help the governments and leaders of the BRICS+ countries to regain sovereignty over their nations. We guide strategies, public policies and their implementation, activating the potential of technology for the benefit of our people. As an NGO, we operate even in the most complex contexts and on high-impact initiatives, because our commitment is focused on the transformation and strengthening of the Global South – and not on profit.

BRICS TECH FORUM NA MÍDIA

HOW WE WORK

Digital Sovereignty Index (DSI)

Developed in partnership with the International Security Studies and Research Group (GEPSI) of the Institute of International Relations at the University of Brasília (UnB) and the Study Group on Technologies and Innovations in Public Management (GETIP) at the University of São Paulo (USP), the DSI is a comparative index that measures how countries accumulate and exercise technological power in the twenty-first century. Evaluating more than 80 countries in its first version, the index assesses the dimensions of hardware, software, cognition, and governance in their capacities to produce, regulate, protect, and coordinate strategic digital infrastructures.

ADVOCACY

Committee for the Resumption of the Brazilian Nuclear Program

Non-partisan, yet unequivocally committed to the national development project, the CRPN positions itself as a collective space for qualified deliberation and critical confrontation of attempts to denationalize, dismantle, or externally subordinate the Brazilian nuclear sector. As an internal commission of the BRICS Tech Forum, the CRPN intends to operate as a hub of strategic intelligence, integrating the Brazilian nuclear debate into the international dynamics of sovereign technological cooperation.

OUR MISSION

Development of National and Regional Capacities

We develop collaborative platforms and technical and ethical training programs to train specialists in data governance and security. These initiatives are implemented in partnership with educational institutions such as the University of Brasília (UnB), fostering the strengthening of local competencies and advancing digital sovereignty.

Promotion of International Cooperation

We establish strategic partnerships with global organizations and BRICS+ countries, promoting collaborative projects that address contemporary challenges such as information integrity, data governance, and digital transformation, positioning the Global South as a key player in data diplomacy. We collaborate with national and international academic and research institutions to create an environment conducive to academic advancement and technological development.

Engagement and Advocacy

We organize forums, seminars, and international meetings that bring together experts, government representatives, and members of civil society to promote dialogue and collaboration on data governance, digital security, and technological sovereignty. Through these efforts, we foster the development of innovative public policies and the expansion of global partnerships, catalyzing concrete actions for sustainable development and digital transformation in the Global South.
