Deliberative Pannel
Technological Sovereignty, Collective Power, and the Future of Space
August 5th at the Institute of International Relations of the University of Brasília
BRICS and the new Social Contract
In the context of growing disputes over technological autonomy and the militarization of strategic sectors, the deliberative panel BRICS and the New Global Contract: Technological Sovereignty, Collective Power, and the Future of Space proposes a critical articulation between sovereignty, innovation, and multilateral governance.
Structured around three thematic sessions, the panel will bring together experts in space law, leaders of BRICS space agencies, and representatives from cybersecurity research centers to explore shared pathways. At the conclusion of the event and in line with its framing as a Deliberative Panel a BRICS+ Charter on Technological Sovereignty in Space will be drafted and approved. This document will consolidate strategic guidelines and areas of consensus to be presented during the BRICS presidency in 2026.
